The main press body of the Azerbaijan Academy of Labor and Social Relations is the scientific-practical magazine “Labor and Social Relations”. The magazine is published twice a year in the volume of 8-10 printed sheets, with a circulation of 200. Today, at a time when scientific journals are in the majority, the articles presented in the “Labor and social relations” scientific-practical journal show a high scientific level, training and strengthening of intellectual potential, improving the quality of education, contributing to the study of social labor relations problems, information technologies to apply the successes achieved in the field in recent years in international scientific cooperation, etc. such important tasks.

Scientific-practical magazine “Labor and social relations” is always open for intellectual discussions and exchange of ideas on scientific issues. Journal of social problems and economy of modern science, sociology, law, etc. It is a real discussion area of current issues related to development.

ABSTRACT

This article examines the relationship between identity and discourse, exploring the issues of polyidentity, the poststructuralist approach to identity, the relationship between identity and the casual conversation we always encounter and which at first glance seems straightforward, the establishment and acceptance of identity in a particular context, its significance as a social construct that is most important for expressing and discussing identity, and the role of language as a symbolic system. It is shown that the concept of identity has come to the forefront of academic research and discussions at a time when socio-economic and political problems have become more acute in the modern world and the human being is in deep crisis, and this is important for understanding the socio-economic and cultural-political processes taking place both in the modern world and in Azerbaijan. Purpose: To clarify the concepts of identity and discourse and to study various aspects of their relationship. Methodology: The article studies some aspects of the current state of the art of studying the problems of identity and discourse using such general scientific research methods as inductive and deductive, analysis and synthesis, as well as the systemic approach, including the possibilities of acquiring new knowledge in this direction. Scientific novelty: A person may have several identities, each of which may be more important at different times. Identity can be seen as a phenomenon associated with a person or group, manifested in consciousness or specific social behavior, resulting from a person’s character or social interaction. Casual conversation is an important linguistic tool for discussing various aspects of our social identity.

Identity is constructed and perceived in a particular context.
